Excited Volkswagen Owner being celebrated for Volksgiving

A tradition of Volksgiving

One good turn deserves another. That’s why we created an Owner recognition program like no other: one that gives back to VW Drivers who help drive positive change.

One good turn deserves another. That’s why we created an Owner recognition program like no other: one that gives back to VW Drivers who help drive positive change.

Giving back. Doing good. Helping others. These are just a few of the qualities that help make our world a better place. And they’re also the qualities we choose to highlight and recognize in our VW Owners. Those who inspire us to Be the Change every day.

For the past four years, Volksgiving has been our opportunity to give back. To reward the good deeds that VW Owners are doing in their communities, across Canada, and all over the world—and to share their stories.

So if you’re in the mood to be inspired, join us as we take a look back at four years of Volksgiving. At the faces and the stories that continue to make this community of VW Owners such a special place.

Volksgiving 2021—The Extra Distance

Our most recent Volksgiving celebration was our biggest and best yet—an opportunity to highlight the VW Owners who best exemplify what it means to Be the Change.

From the founder of a sustainable garden built to help feed a community, to a mother running for her son in order to raise awareness and create opportunities for those with Down syndrome, to one woman’s incredible humanitarian journey that took her—and her Volkswagen—all the way to Afghanistan. This was truly a Volksgiving to remember.

Volksgiving 2020—Answering the Call

For all of us, 2020 was a year like no other. One filled with fear, isolation, and above all, uncertainty. For a very special group of Volkswagen Owners, it was especially hard. That’s why Volksgiving 2020 was all about saying thanks to the brave and selfless essential workers and first responders in our VW Owner family.

Nurses, doctors, in-home caregivers, and even an ER helicopter pilot were among the amazing and inspiring stories we shared. Each one of them had one thing in common: they stepped up to answer the call in our time of collective need. So we made sure each one received a different kind of call—one filled with surprises and heartfelt messages of support from loved ones.

Volksgiving 2019—A Dinner Reveal

In 2019, we put the spotlight on volunteers all over Canada. VW Owners from coast to coast who generously gave their time to charities and other selfless causes, and asked for nothing in return. They were told they were being invited to a special dinner—but that was all they were told. And in true Volksgiving style, that was just the beginning.

Volksgiving 2018—Service and a Surprise

This was the one that started it all. A fun surprise and delight for a handful of loyal Volkswagen service customers. These unsuspecting Owners thought they were coming in for regularly scheduled maintenance, only to get a whole lot more than they bargained for.
