Recalls and Service Actions
Your safety is our top priority. That’s why we’re always making sure to identify potential issues that need addressing. These fall into three categories:
Safety Recalls
These address defects relating to motor vehicle safety and compliance with the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations and/or the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. It's crucial to get these fixed as soon as possible—head to your local Volkswagen dealer to have the recall completed.
Service Actions
These address product technical issues not directly related to safety or compliance and also can be emissions-related in scope. Service actions should be completed promptly in order to help prevent the problem from occurring in your vehicle, so don’t delay. Again, your Volkswagen dealer is the place to go. Refer to the applicable service action for campaign expiry date(s).
Environmental Recalls
These address issues related to emissions or environmental compliance. It’s important to have them completed to ensure your vehicle meets applicable regulatory standards. Visit your local Volkswagen dealer to have the recall completed campaign without delay.
Owners are contacted directly if their vehicle is affected by a recall. You can also manually look up if a vehicle is affected by a recall by entering your VIN in the search tool below.
Where do you find your VIN
Your 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) can be read from the outside of the vehicle through the viewing window on the windshield, located to the side of the lower section of the windshield in front of the driver's seat. Your VIN can also be found in several other locations as well.
