1 EV Software Download
To receive OTA updates, you’ll need to download the myVW app and register as the primary user of your vehicle. This ensures you're always informed about the latest software updates available for your electric vehicle.
When an update is available for your vehicle, the myVW app will alert you via pop-up and/or in-app notification. You'll see options to:
View Update: View the software package details and provide consent to download the update.
Maybe Later: Defer your consent to download the update. Note: 2 deferrals are possible.
Decline Update: Declining the update may require a dealer visit in future for the update.
Once you've consented, the software package will be downloaded in the background. There will be no data cost for downloading the update.
2 EV Software Installation
Once the software download is complete, installation can begin, and your infotainment screen will prompt you to tap “Install.”
Installation time will be displayed in the infotainment system, and you will not be able to drive or charge your vehicle until installation is complete. So, if it’s not a good time, you can postpone the installation until the next time you shut off your vehicle.
To begin installation, tap ""Install”, exit your vehicle with everything you may need while waiting, and lock your car with your key. You will be notified in your infotainment screen once the installation is complete.
To postpone installation in an electric vehicle, refrain from tapping “Install” on the infotainment screen.
IMPORTANT: Once the installation starts, your vehicle cannot be driven or charged. We suggest initiating the installation at the end of the day, when all your planned driving needs are completed for the day.
You will be notified in your myVW app as well as your infotainment screen once the installation is complete.
