The Art of Arteon

September 22, 2018

There’s a new sedan coming to Canada. Sleek and sexy, it fuses fine design, superior performance and a craftsman’s attention to detail. From the bold exterior—which includes a sloping roofline, frameless windows and a wide, eye-catching grill—to the stylish interior, it’s the embodiment of good taste.

We call it the Arteon. Others call it art.

Indeed, the Arteon will be at this weekend’s grand opening celebration of Toronto’s newest art space, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA)Open external link. The splashy celebration will showcase Toronto’s newest art space, featuring works from some of North America’s leading artists, including Scott FroschauerOpen external link—whose MOCA installation—on display from Sept. 22 till Oct. 21—features the Arteon.

Froschauer surrounded the Arteon with a dazzling array of mirrors, lights and imagery, creating an immersive, almost infinite reality. The idea being, luxury is more than an image or a name, but rather, an experience stimulated by the finer things in life.

I was instantly drawn to the Arteon project because I’ve always been a fan of Volkswagen’s heritage of renowned engineering and design – core principals in my own work
 Scott Froschauer

As it turns out, Froschauer isn’t the first to recognize the Arteon’s artistry. In anticipation of the swank sedan’s North America debut, we asked three Canadian tastemakers—photographer and author Andrew Knapp, fashion designer Caitlin Power, and executive chef Jérémie Falissard—what drives their creative spirit.

Smart Luxury

Of course, there’s more to the Arteon than its artistic side. As fun to drive as it is to look at, the Arteon comes packed with premium standard features including heated front and rear seats, LED lights, 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive and a turbocharged 2.0L TSI engine.

Inside the car, the VIP treatment continues, with available Dynaudio premium sound system, triple-zone temperature control, digital cockpit and VW’s renowned App-Connect media portal, all the better to take in while sitting in the super-comfy and sporty leather seats.

But that’s just the beginning.
