TDI Clean Diesel. Legendary for
a reason or two. Or four.

Legendary efficiency.

Life’s too short to be spent filling up at the pump. With TDI Clean Diesel, you’ll be on the road far longer between pit stops.

TDI Clean Diesel technology offers a higher degree of efficiency than a conventional gasoline engine. What does that translate to for you? How about more than 1100 km of wherever-you-want-to-go with every tank.*

Legendary performance.

The TDI in TDI Clean Diesel stands for “Turbocharged Direct Injection.” But what it really means is power.

Here’s how it works: Turbochargers compress the air used for combustion, enabling the engine to create more power with each firing of the cylinder. Increased fuel injection pressures also pump up the horsepower and torque that the engine generates. And because it’s a diesel, you get greater torque at lower revs than a traditional gasoline engine.

Legendary cleanliness.

Just so we’re clear, TDI Clean Diesel is clean.

Today’s diesel fuel is cleaner than ever. It goes by the name ULSD – Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel. Cleaner than gasoline and odourless too, when you combine its cleanliness with the clean technology integrated into the TDI Clean Diesel you’ve got an environmental idol. In fact, TDI Clean Diesels produce 90% less sooty emissions than diesel engines of old. Plus there’s also AdBlue, a harmless cleansing agent added to the Passat TDI Clean Diesel and Touareg TDI Clean Diesel, that helps further reduce nitrogen dioxide emissions.

Legendary value.

TDI Clean Diesel. A good buy. A good sell, as well.

No matter which one of the five models you choose to go with, you’re bound to love your Volkswagen TDI Clean Diesel vehicle. But if you ever do decide to part ways, rest assured that you’ll get a great price for it. After all, it only makes sense that a solid engine would come with a solid resale price.

  • *The TDI fuel efficiency claim of more than 1100 km per tank is based on the following Natural Resources Canada’s estimated fuel consumption ratings for the 2013 TDI Clean Diesel models: Beetle – 4.8L/100 km (highway) and 7.2L/100 km (city); Jetta – 4.6L/100 km (highway) and 6.7L/100 km (city); Golf 5-door – 4.6L/100 km (highway) and 6.7L/100 km (city); Golf Wagon – 4.6L/100 km (highway) and 6.7L/100 km (city); Touareg – 6.7L/100km- (highway) and 10.8L/100km (city); Passat – 4.4L/100 km (highway) and 6.8L/100 km (city). Refer to the EnerGuide 2013. Estimated mileage is based on the following transmissions and fuel tank capacities for 2013 models: Beetle (manual transmission and a 55L fuel tank) / Jetta TDI Clean Diesel (manual transmission and a 55L fuel tank) / Golf 5-door TDI Clean Diesel (manual transmission and a 55L fuel tank) / Golf Wagon TDI Clean Diesel (manual transmission and a 55L fuel tank) / Touareg TDI Clean Diesel (automatic transmission and a 100L fuel tank) / Passat TDI Clean Diesel (manual transmission and a 70 L fuel tank). Actual fuel consumption may vary based on driving conditions, driver habits and vehicle’s additional equipment.
