2015 Golf Award

2015 Golf Wins CAJ Best of the Best Award

Voted the 2015 Best of the Best by the Canadian Automotive Jury (CAJ), this month brings yet another win for the impressive Volkswagen Golf. The competition was stiff but the Golf beat out both the Ford Mustang and Porsche Macan for first place at the Montreal auto show. Winners of the CAJ are chosen based on the following criteria: style, design (exterior and interior), ride and handling, performance, ergonomics, comfort, space, cargo capacity, fuel efficiency, market significance, and noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). The CAJ is a non-profit organization that is independently funded by 10 jurors, who are renowned automotive journalists and Volkswagen is honoured to accept the 2015 Best of the Best award.

2015 AJAC Best New Small Car (over $21,000)

The Canadian Car of the Year Awards program is created by journalist members of AJAC to provide buyers with comparative information on new vehicles. Starting in September of each year, hundreds of eligible new model vehicles are evaluated by AJAC’s expert journalists based on comparative “real world” testing and data. This extensive evaluation recognizes the best new vehicles across a range of categories. That’s why we are proud to announce that the All-New 2015 Volkswagen Golf has been honoured by AJAC with the Best New Small Car (over $21,000) award.

2015 Motoring TV Award

February brings another win from Motoring TV for the all-new 2015 Golf as Motoring's Car of the Year. What makes this award so unique is that it judges the whole lineup, not just individual models. Each model is put into a category where it competes against it’s class based on everything from style, ride/handling, interior execution, comfort, cargo, drivability, value, etc. Having picked the winner from each of the categories, the models are then narrowed down to arrive at the overall Car of the Year. In this case, it was the Volkswagen Golf lineup. We at Volkswagen humbly agree and are excited to add the Motoring TV award to the many wins of the 2015 Golf.

German-engineered to perform as well on paper as it does on the road.

The Volkswagen 1.8 TSI engine is one of Ward’s Autoworld Magazine’s 10 best engines of 2014. Published every year, the Ward’s 10 Best Engines list recognizes the best engines on the road, and the technology that makes them so great. This year, Ward’s chose the 1.8 TSI because of its innovative German engineering, enhanced performance and advanced fuel economy. Offering plenty of power in a compact, cost-effective and fuel-efficient engine, the 1.8 TSI checks all the boxes. And then some.

The Golf wins Gold.

Well, it can’t get much better than this. The seventh generation Golf has been honoured as the 2013 World Car of the Year. Given that the UP! won the award last year, this is the second year in a row that a Volkswagen has been chosen from a short-list of 10 finalists, by a panel of 66 of the world’s most highly regarded automotive journalists. We’re extremely proud to be considered the best of a group in which the standards of excellence are so high.

The All-New Passat is all good.

We couldn’t be happier to announce that the 2012 Passat has been named Motor Trend Car of the Year. Judged against 34 other models, the Passat outperformed the field across Motor Trend’s six criteria: Advancement in Design, Engineering Excellence, Efficiency, Safety, Value and Performance of Intended Function. It’s a great honour and one that we know the All-New Passat will continue to live up to in the years to come.

1,2,3 VWs recognized with Awards.

Three Volkswagen models drove away with honours from this year’s Awards, with the 2012 Golf Wagon earning the 2012 Wagon of the Year title. The 2012 Touareg and 2012 Passat were named finalists in the Midsize Utility and Midsize Car of the Year categories, respectively. And, they’re earning top marks from our owners as well.

Touareg wins again. And again.

Every year, the experts of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada award the best of the best in Canadian cars. In 2010 and 2011 they recognized the Volkswagen Touareg in the Best New SUV / CUV category. This year, the 2012 Touareg TDI Clean Diesel took home the prize for the Best New SUV / CUV ($35k - $60k). Don’t worry about it going to our heads though: the Touareg’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system will keep us grounded.
