2009 World Car of the Year

The winner of the World Car of the Year Award was announced earlier this year at the New York International Auto Show. The competition comprised an initial list of 51 entries and was judged by 59 World Car jurors from 25 countries. This international panel of experts scored the entries on merit, value, safety, environment, significance and emotional appeal – with one car emerging as the clear-cut winner.
